Tartanware is a type of small wooden object covered in paper printed with Scottish clan tartans (plaids). The items were made from the 1820’s until a fire destroyed the machinery in 1933. Things like sewing tools, small boxes, and such were meant to be souvenirs as visiting Scotland became popular when British royalty began vacationing there bringing tourist as well.
We are producing small pin cushions copied from the original. 1.75 inches in diameter.
We are carrying Stuart tartan at this time, will have more tartans available in the future. This is a fun, period correct, item to have in your sewing basket.
